Welcome to the Wellness Journey NC!

I am an integrative, strengths-based therapist serving the residents of North Carolina and based in Raleigh.  I employ a variety of therapeutic techniques to contribute to your journey towards mental wellness.

I believe in treating the individual as a whole person.  I believe physical health and mental health are equally important and intrinsically connected.  While therapy can tend to focus on social and emotional wellness, treating the whole individual includes building and maintaining healthy habits around eating, exercising, and sleep.  These areas are just as important for mental wellness.

My personal approach to therapy is Person-Centered, which means YOU as the client are the center of the therapeutic experience, and I will seek to understand your lived experiences before partnering with you for change.  I believe that holding a confidential, respectful, and non-judgmental stance is essential for therapy to become a healing place, and I will seek to create this experience from the first time we talk.

While tailoring therapy to the individual client, I may utilize therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Reality Therapy, to best meet the needs of the individual client.  In working with kids I also use Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy.

I also offer ADHD Assessments as a standalone service for children, teens, and adults. Please note that I do not provide formal testing or evaluations for learning disabilities or giftedness; my focus is on clear, supportive ADHD assessment and guidance.  If you have been on the fence or suspected that you or your child has ADHD, an ADHD Evaluation can help provide diagnostic clarity, differential diagnosis, and recommendations for further treatment and support.

I encourage you to email me for an initial conversation about therapy.  I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discover if I may be a good fit for your wellness goals.

Your wellness journey starts here.

I started my journey of working with kids as an 8th grade teacher during the pandemic. Through this experience, I found my passion for working with youth. After teaching, I worked as an admissions counselor where I first learned about school counseling and clinical mental health counseling.

As a recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, I received my master’s in School Counseling, and my certification in clinical mental health counseling. I completed my clinical hours at a high school in Raleigh, and primarily worked with ages 14-18. Currently I work as an 8th grade school counselor. Additionally, I am an American School Counseling Association (ASCA)-Certified Trauma and Crisis Management Specialist and hold a certification in Youth Mental Health First Aid. My credentials provide a strong foundation in facilitating lasting social and emotional growth and academic success in both children and adolescents.

My therapeutic expertise encompasses culturally responsive, trauma-informed counseling allowing me to promote holistic growth in children and adolescents with diverse backgrounds and needs. I utilize Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) to empower children and adolescents through identifying and building on their existing strengths and helping clients to identify solutions. I specialize in working with youth struggling with depression, anxiety, and neurodivergence like ADHD.  I am knowledgeable in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Reality Therapy techniques, giving me the tools to address an array of concerns and challenges clients might be facing.

Currently I serve ages 4-18. I can meet with adolescents on Wednesday and Thursday evenings virtually, and children on Saturdays in person.  In my experience, the most impactful part of children and adolescent therapy is helping them to be seen.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, and rewatching some of my favorite tv shows like Gilmore Girls.
